A partridge in a pear tree

Our 12 Days of Christmas projects starts here with a partridge in a pear tree by the lovely Lindsey of Hello Hydrangea. Here's the how to!

Today marks the start of our 12 Days of Christmas craft projects on the blog, each how-to based on the lines of the carol. To get everything underway, we've got a simple little decoration idea from Lindsey of Hello Hydrangea - who you may remember from an earlier post, where she showed you how to make a gorgeous autumnal wall hanging - featuring a partridge in a pear tree.

This would be such a great little project to do with children making decorations for your tree, so here's how to go about it!

You'll need

6 paper circles

paint in your choice of colours

glue

string

a twig

Simply make

1 Fold each circle in half.

2 Paint a partridge and a pear in a design of your choice on the circles.

3 Glue the circles back to back to make a globe.

4 Glue the middle of the string down the centre of the globe.

5 Wrap the end of the string around a twig and hang on your tree!

There you have it! How sweet does that look? We love the simplicity of it - and the fact that you don't need to go shopping for lots of materials and can make it using what you have in the house and garden.

Don't forget to check back on the blog tomorrow for our turtle doves tutorial from Cupcakes for Clara. See you then!
